Prepare a separate language edition while retaining the source catalog.
This workflow covers the whole document: initial translation, terminology, individual text edits, and target publication. The AI start action generates the first translation; Post-Edit supports manual review.

Follow these steps

Choose source and target

In Catalog Translation Management, choose the source catalog, source language, target language, and target name. Confirm that source text matches the selected language.

Prepare translation instructions

Describe tone and intended use. Enter one protected term per line for names or SKUs. Use source => target in the glossary. Protected patterns are regular expressions, not an ordinary word list.

Start the initial translation

Start and confirm the source and target. The job becomes queued/running. You can close the drawer and return to follow the target language’s status and item progress.

Distinguish cancellation and completion

Use Cancel translation to stop the job. An accepted cancellation request is not immediate completion; wait for the final state. After completion, inspect error/review counts and open Post-Edit.
Result
Confirm the target catalog exists. A translated status is not a substitute for editorial review or publication.
