Repeat shapes around a circle

Build a circular or arc-shaped pattern from one shape.
Adjust the live repeat as one object. Expanding its copies into blocks is a separate, optional step.
Follow these steps

Set the repeat count

Set Repeat to 2 or more. The panel supports up to 24 repeats.

Choose a circle or arc
PropertiesSpread:
Set the angular spread: 360° makes a full circle; smaller values make an arc. The panel range is 30°–360°.

Adjust the radius
PropertiesRadius:
Change Radius to move copies toward or away from the center. Resize the whole arrangement using its selection box.

Return to one shape
PropertiesRepeat:
Before expanding to blocks, set Repeat to 1 to turn the repeat off.

Make the copies individually editable
PropertiesExpand to blocks
Choose Expand to blocks to replace the live repeat with grouped shape objects.
Repeat, Spread and Radius no longer control the group after expansion. Undo to restore the live repeat.

You have either an adjustable live repeat or a group of separate shape objects.
Troubleshooting
- Repeat controls are missing
- Radial repeat is not offered for a ready-made line.
- I cannot select just one copy
- Repeats are part of one object. Expand to blocks creates separate objects, initially grouped.
