Convert an SVG image to editable vectors

Edit supported SVG artwork as pen paths.

This does not trace an ordinary photo. It extracts supported vector elements from an SVG image source.

Follow these steps

    Start conversion

    PropertiesImageConvert to vector

    Select the SVG image and click Convert to vector. Ordinary photos do not show this control. Wait for conversion to finish.

    Review results and warnings

    Editable path blocks replace the image block. The notification reports unsupported elements when conversion is partial. Do not assume that text or embedded photos will all convert; compare the result with the original.

    If there are no usable elements, conversion does not replace the image. Use Undo to return to the previous image when a partial result is unsuitable.

    Edit the paths

    Select a resulting path to change its fill, stroke, or points. Follow the pen-tool editing lesson for anchors and curves. You are now working with separate path objects rather than a single image block.

Result

Supported SVG artwork becomes editable paths that you can inspect and refine.
