Preview drafts and update a publication

Last updated: September 8, 2026 · 2 min read

Review working pages and publish them when ready.

Editor draft pages and published page content are separate. Opening Share alone does not publish draft pages.

Follow these steps

  1. 1

    Review the draft

    EditorPreview

Open preview from the top bar and choose a viewing format. Check page navigation, buttons, images, and text overflow. Test actions as a reader rather than as a canvas editor.

  2. 2

    Complete preflight

    EditorPreflight

Review page and block findings in Preflight. With accessible publishing enabled, blocking issues must be resolved. If product records changed, check their cards too.

  3. 3

    Publish or update

    EditorSharePublish / Update

Use Publish for the first release and Update for draft changes to an existing publication. The action saves current pages and prepares published content. Wait for completion rather than starting again during progress.

  4. 4

    Open the reader link

    EditorShareCatalog link

After success, open the link in a new tab. Check the changed pages and important actions, confirming that the intended changes reached readers.

  5. 5

    Separate data and settings scope

    EditorShare

Separate draft pages do not imply that every setting and product field is frozen. Shared product data and access settings have their own scope. Downloaded PDFs remain old files until exported again.

Result

Confirm the intended page version in the reader tab. Verify saving, revision creation, and publication updates separately.
