Sharing a catalog
Last updated: 8 September 2026 · 4 minute read
Learn how to share a published catalog with a link, a QR code, social buttons and an embed code, and how to decide who can open it and what readers may do.
The share window opens from the Share button at the top right of the editor and has six tabs: Share, Accessibility, Privacy, Export, Embed and Cart. The link always shows the published version; edits in the editor reach readers only after you choose Update. Settings here save automatically, so there is no Save button.
Steps
- 1
Publish the catalog
EditorSharePublish
Click Share at the top right. Choose Publish for a first publication or Update for draft changes to an existing one. Opening the dialog alone does not publish page changes. Wait for success, then check the reader link.
After later edits a "You have unpublished changes" banner appears at the top of the window. Choose Update before sharing the link; otherwise readers see the previous version.
- 2
Copy the link
ShareCatalog link
Copy the address from the Catalog link field on the Share tab. In the Link address field you can pick a readable address in the form creavim.com/c/workspace/address, using lowercase letters, digits and hyphens.
Changing the address breaks the old link. Update the places where you shared it.
- 3
Download the QR code
ShareQR code
Download the QR code as PNG or SVG; SVG scales for print. The code always points at the current link, so you only reprint it if you change the link address.
- 4
Choose how readers see it
ShareViewer
The viewing mode decides which view opens from the link: Scroll, Single page or Flipbook. The narrow-screen layout decides whether a spread splits on phones. The viewer background colour is set here too.
On mobile the flipbook falls back to single page on its own. You may want to keep spreads on designs with an image across the gutter.
- 5
Decide who can open it
PrivacyAccess
The access setting has four options: Public is listed by search engines, Unlisted opens only with the link, Password protected asks for a password, Private is visible only to you. You can also give the link an expiry.
You share the password with the people who need it; Creavim does not add it to the link.
- 6
Decide what readers may do
PrivacyPermissions
The download permission opens PDF and image formats, single-page download and printing separately. Turning on social share buttons shows Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and email buttons in the viewer. The Google Analytics measurement ID lives on this tab as well.
- 7
Embed it on your website
EmbedEmbed code
On the Embed tab, Allow embedding must be on first; when it is off the code does not work on other sites. Copy the code or click one of the preset sizes; the code is copied with those dimensions. Preview opens the embedded form.
- 8
Share the accessible edition and the PDFs
AccessibilityAccessible publication link
With the accessible HTML edition on, a separate semantic link is produced for screen readers and keyboards; it uses the same privacy and password settings. The publication language is chosen on this tab too. Publishing also prepares two tagged PDFs: a linear reading edition and a print edition that keeps the design.
Options
Where each option lives in the window and what it changes.
| Option | Tab | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog link and link address | Share | The publication address; the readable address joins your workspace address. |
| QR code (PNG, SVG) | Share | A scannable code for print material and shop windows. |
| Viewing mode and narrow-screen layout | Share | Scroll, single page or flipbook; single page or unsplit spread on phones. |
| Viewer background | Share | The background colour readers see. |
| Access: Public, Unlisted, Password protected, Private | Privacy | Who can open it; the password and link expiry live here. |
| Download, single-page download, printing | Privacy | Whether readers can take files; PDF and image formats separately. |
| Social share buttons | Privacy | Facebook, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and email in the viewer. |
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Privacy | Viewer events go to your own property; nothing is sent without visitor consent. |
| Allow embedding, embed code and preset sizes | Embed | When off, the code does not work on other sites; a one-line iframe code with small, medium and large sizes. |
| Accessible HTML edition, publication language and tagged PDFs | Accessibility | The semantic link; the viewer language; reading and print PDFs, regenerate. |
| Cart behaviour | Cart | Full cart, product window only, or off. |
| PDF and image download | Export | You download the pages yourself; the reader permission is separate. |
Result
The link, the QR code and the embed code always show the last published version. Access and permission changes apply at once without republishing; design changes go live with Update.
