What happens when product data changes?

Understand the difference between data updates, card settings, and publishing.

Editing a product record differs from editing a page layout. Google Sheets sync can also update linked product data.

Follow these steps

  1. 1

    Check the link

    PropertiesProduct

Check that the card is linked to the intended product. When the linked record is available, its name, description, SKU, brand, category, and price supply the card. Correct a wrong product selection rather than trying to fix it with styling.

  2. 2

    Review layout after refresh

    PropertiesRefresh

Refresh the product list. Review new name/description lengths, price formatting, image proportions, and missing fields. Updated data does not redesign your manually chosen position or typography. Resize the card or reduce visible fields when needed.

  3. 3

    Review shared images

    PropertiesCard image

Uploads, removals, and reordering change the shared product gallery. Use thumbnail selection to show a different photo on this card only. If the selected photo is no longer part of the product, the card can fall back to the cover.

  4. 4

    Separate publication from live data

    EditorPreview

Readers see the published page layout; moving a draft card alone does not update that layout. Linked products are fetched separately from current product data when the reader loads. Therefore a product name, price, or gallery update should not be treated as a draft-only change.

  5. 5

    Compare the final version

    EditorShare

Check draft preview, the published link, and any newly exported PDF separately. A previously downloaded PDF does not update itself when the product record changes.
