Align paragraphs and create lists

Last updated: September 8, 2026 · 4 min read

Set line spacing, text alignment, and bullet or numbered lists.

Alignment affects the whole text box. Lists can apply to selected paragraphs during editing or to the complete content when the block is selected.

Follow these steps

  1. 1

    Choose horizontal alignment

    PropertiesStyle

Choose left, center, or right alignment. The justification controls let you align the final line left, center, or right, or justify every line. Hover over an icon to read its complete name.

Alignment affects the entire box even when only a few words are selected inside it.

  2. 2

    Set line height

    PropertiesStyle

Type a Line height value or use the slider. It is a multiplier relative to the text size: 1.5 provides more room between lines. For a consistent block-wide setting, finish editing and select the block first. When working with a selection inside the text, review the affected paragraphs and remaining lines afterward.

  3. 3

    Create a bullet list

    PropertiesParagraph

Select the block and click the bullet icon under List to convert all its content. To convert only some paragraphs, double-click into the text, select those paragraphs, and use the same icon. You do not need to type bullet characters manually.

  4. 4

Switch list types or remove a list

    PropertiesParagraph

Use the numbered-list icon when order matters. Applying the same list type again removes that list formatting; choosing the other icon changes its type. Review item boundaries and numbering afterward.

  5. 5

    Position text vertically

    PropertiesFrame

Choose top, middle, or bottom alignment. This moves text within its box, not the box on the page. The box needs spare vertical space for the difference to be visible.

Result

Your text has consistent alignment and spacing, with actual lists where needed.
