Create a lightbox gallery
Last updated: September 8, 2026 · 1 min read
Create a photo collection opened from a thumbnail.
A slideshow occupies the page area; this gallery opens in a separate viewer when its thumbnail is activated.
Follow these steps
- 1
Add images
PropertiesGallery images
Insert a photo-gallery preset from Elements > Media. Upload new files or use Select image to add existing uploads, then arrange the resulting list.
- 2
Set order and descriptions
PropertiesGallery images
Drag rows or use up/down arrows. The first photo supplies the thumbnail. Add alternative text for meaningful images and an optional visible caption separately. Removing a row removes that gallery item.
- 3
Style the thumbnail
PropertiesThumbnail settings
Choose Cover or Contain, corner radius, and the gallery badge. Cover may crop the image. Make sure the first photo remains recognizable at thumbnail size.
- 4
Name the opening action
PropertiesAccessible publication
The gallery name identifies the collection; the opening-action label describes the thumbnail button. Fill in both. Tooltip text is a separate hint and does not replace these fields.
- 5
Test the lightbox
PropertiesLightbox settings
Set tooltip, autoplay, and transition interval. Open the gallery in preview, navigate both ways, and close it. Check ordering, descriptions, and automatic transitions.
Check your result
Check the result in preview, then verify the reader experience in the published version.
