Create a chart and edit its data

Explain numerical data with an appropriate chart and clear labels.
A chart uses its own label/value list. CSV import replaces that list.
Follow these steps
- 1
Choose a chart type
EditorElements > Data
Insert a chart preset, then choose horizontal bar, vertical bar, pie, donut, line, or progress in Properties. Use a type suited to the data, such as bars for category comparisons or a line for change over time.
- 2
Enter data rows
PropertiesData
Enter a label and numeric value for each row. Add creates another row; delete removes that data item. Check how colors correspond to the data order, especially after deleting a row.
- 3
Import CSV
PropertiesData
Choose a CSV whose first two columns contain labels and numbers. A nonnumeric second cell can identify a heading row. Other invalid numbers may become zero; use a dot for decimals and verify the imported values. Import replaces the existing list.
- 4
Set title and appearance
PropertiesAppearance
Enter a title and choose title, label, and value visibility. Pie and donut charts offer a legend. Bar radius appears for relevant types. Adjust maximum value, animation, data colors, background, and text colors/sizes while keeping values readable.
- 5
Explain the chart
PropertiesAppearance
For an accessible publication, add a description explaining the chart alongside its title. State the period, units, and main trend instead of only “sales chart.” Do not rely on color alone to communicate meaning.
