Convert a shape to an editable path

Turn a rectangle, ellipse or star into editable points and curves.

After conversion, path editing controls replace the preset shape’s controls.

Follow these steps

Prepare the shape
EditorProperties
Set shape-specific options such as polygon sides, star ratio or rectangle corners first.

Convert it
EditorConvert shape to path
Right-click the shape and choose Convert shape to path. It becomes a path object.
Path editing replaces shape-specific controls such as side count.

Edit the points
PropertiesEdit path
Choose Properties → Edit path. Move its points and handles to customize the outline.
Use Undo to return to the ready-made shape before conversion.

The shape can now be edited as a path.

The command is missing: Check that the shape is unlocked and belongs to a supported type.
