Import an InDesign document

Follow these steps

   Prepare the source

   EditorImport from InDesign

   Prepare an IDML copy of the InDesign document. Use .idml rather than INDD. Check missing links and fonts in the source, and keep a reference PDF or image for comparison.

   Upload the file

   EditorImport from InDesignChoose File

   Choose the file through the start screen’s import action and respect the displayed size limit. Upload and page processing are separate stages; follow progress until the catalog is ready.

   Review diagnostics

   EditorImport warnings

   Read import diagnostics when the editor opens. Compare substituted fonts, missing images, and approximated elements with the source. Complex vectors rendered as images may not remain editable as paths.

   Check text and masters

   EditorPages and Properties

   Check headings, line breaks, overflow, image crops, and master elements. Precise spacing and some OpenType features may differ. Compare footnotes, endnotes, and automatic hyphenation against the source.

   Complete interactive and accessible content

   EditorPreview

   Configure needed buttons and media actions in Creavim. Complete image descriptions, text roles, and reading order. A finished import is not a completed publication audit.
