Add and replace images
Last updated: September 8, 2026 · 4 min read
Place a photo from your computer or existing uploads on the page.
Filling an empty image block and replacing an existing photo use different entry points. Replacement changes the selected block’s source rather than creating another block.
Follow these steps
- 1
Add an empty image block
EditorAdd image
Click Add image in the block toolbar. Select the empty image box on the page and open Image in Properties.
- 2
Fill it from a file or gallery
PropertiesImage
Use Upload new to select a file from your computer, then wait for the upload. For an existing file, open Select image and click a gallery image. These controls appear when the image block is empty.
- 3
Insert an upload directly
EditorUploads
Open Uploads in the left panel and click an image’s insert area to add a new image block. Selection controls mark images for bulk actions; use the action for adding the selected images when you want several on the page. After marking several images, click Add (+).
Uploading and inserting are separate actions. A file appearing in the library does not mean it has been placed on the page.
- 4
Replace an existing photo
EditorRight-click menu
Select one image block and right-click it. Choose Upload new image for a file on your computer, or Select from uploads for an existing file.
Replacement changes the source. Existing crop and appearance settings may remain, so review the new photo’s framing, effects, and alternative text.
- 5
Finish the layout
EditorCanvas
Position the block on the page. Use the cropping lesson to change the visible part inside its frame, or the image-masking lessons to place it in another shape.
Result
Your photo is added to the intended page or replaces the previous source.
