Download accessible PDF editions

Last updated: September 8, 2026 · 2 min read

Download reading and design-preserving editions when ready.

Accessible PDFs are generated from accessible publication content, not through the ordinary Screen PDF download.

Follow these steps

  1. 1

    Complete accessible publication

    ShareAccessibility

Enable the accessible version in Share. Complete language, text roles, alternatives, tables, media, and reading order. Resolve blockers and finish Publish/Update.

  2. 2

    Read generation status

    ShareAccessibilityAccessible PDF

Watch the queued, processing, ready, or failed state on the card. Published pages can be available before the PDF is ready. Review failures before requesting repeated generations.

  3. 3

    Download the appropriate edition

    AccessibilityAccessible PDF

When ready, download the reading edition or available print edition. The reading version uses a linear flow; the print version preserves the design. Check the downloaded edition by its name and content.

  4. 4

    Review validation and actual reading

    AccessibilityAccessible PDFFile

Check headings, links, alternatives, and reading order. Machine validation does not assess all meaning: a technically present but inaccurate image description is still wrong. After content changes, update the publication and download the refreshed file.
